Lady Gators
bump Pender BURGAW - Kayla McLean’s three-run double with two outs and two strikes in the top of the seventh inning was the crucial blow for the East Columbus Lady Gators Tuesday night in a 6-5 comeback victory over Pender in a Waccamaw 1A-2A Conference softball game. Rebecca Harrelson followed McLean with another double to make the score 6-4. Pender brought across a run in the bottom of the seventh before the Lady Gators got the final out. Jessica McPherson was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters as Coach Larry Williamson’s squad evened its conference record at 2-2 and put its season mark at 8-2. East Columbus got 10 hits off Pender pitching. The Lady Gators will travel to play South Brunswick on Friday. |
