| Knights knock off Vikings
DUBLIN The West Bladen Knights placed five players in the double scoring column Tuesday night in a 78-60 Southeastern Conference boys basketball romp over the visiting West Columbus Vikings. The loss dropped the Vikings to 1-1 in conference play an 6-2 overall. West Bladen held a 19-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 41-33 at halftime. Joe Gore led the Knights with 19 points, followed by Mike McCall with 18, Jamel Hall with 14 and Cruz Drake and Reggie Fenwick with 10 each. The Knights of Coach Mike Cross now have a 3-1 record. Mikey Bilal and Chaz Everette each scored 17 points for West Columbus, which saw a five-game winning streak come to a halt. The Vikings connected on five 3-point shots, including two by Courtney Hayes. West Bladen won the girls game 53-36 behind Keshia Gainey’s 22 points. The Lady Knights, who led at halftime 22-13, also got 12 points from Samantha Jackson as they evened their season record at 2-2. Andrea Godwin led West Columbus scorers with 16 points. West Columbus will travel to play Southeastern Conference rival Red Springs on Friday. GIRLS GAME
