Chris Wilcox

Former Whiteville High All-State basketball player Chris Wilcox connected on 10 of 14 field goal attempts to finish with 21 points, but his Seattle SuperSonics still lost their fourth game Sunday night, falling to the host Detroit Pistons 97-93. On Friday night in Cleveland, Wilcox was not in the starting lineup for the first time this season, but he came off the bench to score 20 points and haul in seven rebounds in a 106-84 loss to the Cavaliers.. On Wednesday in Chicago, he had one of his most least productive nights of the season with only four points as the Sonics fell to the Bulls 99-84. Seattle now 10-15, will try to break the dry spell of its current five-game road trip when it goes against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.

The Hallsboro Tigers grab a 72-38 basketball victory over Acme-Delco with Jack Prescott scoring 18 points to lead HHS to its second win of the week. Howard Pope follows with 12 points and Mike Simmons adds 10. Henry Wyche leads Tiger rebounders with 10. Coleman Truesdale is high scorer for Acme-Delco with 12points. Hallsboro also wins the girls game 37-222 behind a 29-point effort by Rosanna Barefoot. Linda Hardin is leading scorer for Acme-Delco with 11 points.
