JIMMY HALL DAVIS

ROCKINGHAM -- Jimmy Hall Davis, 59, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital, here. He was born March 13, 1947 in Richmond County, a son of the late Henry Carroll and Ruby Hall Davis.

Davis served in the United States Army and retired from CSX. He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Davis; and a daughter, Sonja Cole.

Final rites were held Thursday, Dec. 21, at Southside Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverends Ricky Jacobs, Mike Stirk, and Thad Jacobs officiated. Burial followed at Eastside Cemetery. Watson-King Funeral Home, Rockingham handled the arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Scott Davis and wife, Melony, of Whiteville; a daughter, Holly Davis of Rockingham; grandsons, Bailey Gibson, Trey Stewart, Ben Cole, and Seth Davis; sisters, Arliss Jacobs of Mullins, S.C., and Lynn Faye Batton of Rockhingham; and a brother, Tommy Davis of Rockingham.

VIVIAN WARNER PERRY

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Vivian Warner Perry, 79, died at Elizabethtown Nursing Center.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Eloise Warner; and sisters, Edna Grey Miller and Ernestine Clark.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 20 with the Rev. Bruce Cannon officiating at Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Council. Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown handled the arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Gena Perry Sadler of Lisbon; and a grandchild.

ANNA BELLE POTTS SHARRETT

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Anna Belle Potts Sharrett, 87, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2006, in Bristol Regional Medical Center, here. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Charles Edgar and Mary Kate Morrell Potts. She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church where she served in many capacities.

Sharrett was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Sharrett; a sister, Martha Rachel Potts Arnold; and brothers, James Odie Pitts, Herbert Kent Potts, and Clyde Joseph Potts.

Final rites were held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Riverbend Baptist Church with the Rev. Niles Kitzmiller officiating, assisted by Dr. Lewis Clarke. Entombment followed in Shipley Cemetery. Weaver Funeral Home of Bristol, Tenn. handled the arrangements. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City announced for the family.

Survivors include her children, Annette Sharrett Sanders and husband Daniel of Tabor City; Wayne Woodrow Sharrett of Bristol, Tenn.; Eddie Bruce Sharrett and wife Judith of Naples, Fla., Gina Sharrett Malone and husband Drew of Oak Ridge; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

HAZEL McDONALD LANCASTER

GREEN SEA, S.C. -- Hazel McDonald Lancaster, 71, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Hall “Pedro” Lancaster, and her parents, Rex and Addie Watson McDonald.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Inman Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Frederick Lancaster of Clarendon, and Kevin Lancaster of Green Sea, S.C.; three daughters, Debbie Workinger of Tabor City, Kathy Fowler of Clarendon, and Lorie Lancaster of Green Sea, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Jean Blue of Bleheim, S.C., and Joan Elliott of Green Sea, S.C.; a brother, Edward McDonald of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday (tonight) from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

BETTY ANN SMALL DUDLEY

FAIRMONT -- Betty Ann Small Dudley, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at her residence. She was born in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Gordon and Estelle Taylor Small.

Final rites were held Sunday, Dec. 17, at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff. Burial followed in the Powell Cemetery, Fair Bluff. Meares Funeral Home of Fair Bluff handled the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Eldert Dudley of the home; three sons, Danny Dudley, Chris Dudley and Ronnie Dudley, all of Fairmont; two daughters, Edith Jones and Niza Collins, both of Fairmont; a brother, Gordon Small Jr. of Fair Bluff; and a sister, Mary Ford of Nichols, S.C.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

ALLEN ‘AL’ WILLIAMS

WHITEVILLE -- Allen “Al” Wade Williams, 62, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Columbus Regional Healthcare. He was born April 24, 1944 in Columbus County, the son of the late Clyde R. and Amanda C. Green Williams.

He was a retired trooper having worked with the North Carolina Highway Patrol for 31 years. He was a member of Brunswick Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.

Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Peacock’s Chapel In The Pines with the Reverends Linzy Nance and Terry Green, and Dr. Ray Thipgen officiating. Interment will be held at Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park. Peacock’s Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Barton Williams; four sons, Allen Wade Williams Jr. of Norman, Okla., Andy Williams of Noble, Okla., Austin Williams and Dustin Williams, both of Rowland; two daughters, Amanda Williams and Alli Williams, both of Rowland; a brother, Rudy Williams of Brunswick; two sisters, Patti Fisher and Betsy Fisher, both of Whiteville; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bennett Williams, and Charles Clyde Williams.

PEGGY ANN MARTIN

WHITE LAKE -- Peggy Ann Martin, 68, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Bladen County Hospital, Elizabethtown.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include a sister, Durrene M. Strickland of Wilmington.

FAIR BLUFF -- Lizzie Elvlon Goodman, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice/Life Care Facility, Wilmington.

Final rites will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at The Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Fair Bluff with the Reverends Thomas Register, Regina Gainey, and John M. Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler Branch Community Cemetery, Fair Bluff. S&L Funeral Home of Fair Bluff is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Pearl Graham of Fair Bluff; eight sons, George A. Goodman, Henry Goodman, Randy Goodman, Jeffery Goodman, and Ricky Goodman, all of Fair Bluff, Charles Leggett and Wayne Leggett, both of Hartford, Conn., and Ronnie Leggett of Springfield, Mass.; three sisters, Nonnie Mae Powell and Mary Goodman, both of Fair Bluff, and Annie McQueen of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a grandson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 21 (tonight) from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the home of Antonio and Pearl Graham, 316 Elm Street, Fair Bluff.

PATRICIA ANN HUGGINS

EVERGREEN -- Patricia Ann Huggins, 56, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Columbus Regional Healthcare, Whiteville. She was a school cafeteria worker.

Final rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at St. Mary’s Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathaniel Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Community Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Russell Huggins of Evergreen, and Maurice Huggins of Lumberton; three brothers, Edward Huggins of Lumberton, William “Terry” Huggins of Evergreen, and Jerry Huggins of Whiteville.

Viewing will be at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until 7 p.m. Viewing will be at the church Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., and there will be no viewing after the service.

SALOME GOODMAN BLANKS

WILMINGTON -- Salome Goodman Blanks, formerly of Evergreen, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Premier Living Center, Lake Waccamaw.

Final rites will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. from Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Whiteville with the Rev. Donald R. Mapson officiated. Burial will follow in the Freeman Community Cemetery, Bolton. Smith Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Alma Gillespie of Chesapeake, Va.; and a god-daughter, Fannie Dooley of Riegelwood.

Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Fair Bluff with the Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Scott and Rev. Thomas Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the Butler Branch Community Cemetery, Fair Bluff. S&L Funeral Home of Fair Bluff is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include four daughters, Annie Mae Snowten, Linda Rogers, and Brenda Rogers, all of Fair Bluff, and Penny Rogers of Hartford, Conn.; three sons, Edward Rogers of Fair Bluff, Jonny Lee Rogers and Pat Rogers, both of Hartford, Conn.; her mother, Qunnie Washington of Fair Bluff; three sisters, Lucille McMillian and Louise Leggett, both of Fair Bluff, and Mary Wright of Mamue, Ohio; five brothers, Peter Washington, Billy Washington, Danny Washington, Michael Washington and Mitchell Washington, all of Fair Bluff; and 28 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends at the homne of Qunnie Washington and Ruben Dowe, 70 Bruce Street, Fair Bluff.

BLADENBORO -- Barden H. McLean, 62, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Lumberton.

Final rites were held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Galeed Baptist Church, Bladenboro with Dr. Mack Robgerts and the Rev. David Clewis officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown handled the arrangements.
