CERRO GORDO - Junior guard Chaz Everette attained the 30-point plateau for the second straight game Friday in the West Columbus Vikings’ 80-59 romp over the visiting West Bladen Knights in the final Southeastern Conference regular-season basketball game for both squads.

Everette’s 33 points helped give the Vikings their ninth straight win and put their season record at 19-3, including 9-3 in conference. Everette had scored 30 points in West Columbus’ 85-54 non-conference win over South Columbus last Tuesday.

Willie Smith and had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Coach Michael Powell’s Vikings, who have finished second in the Southeastern Conference standings behind first-place Fairmont. Alberto De La Rosa had 10 Viking points.

West Columbus, which lost to the Knights in their first conference meeting, led 41-26 at the half before and extending the advantage to 61-39 after three quarters.

Joey Graham and Michael Singletary each had 17 points for West Bladen, which finished third in the conference standings with an 8-4 record.

West Bladen won the girls game 58-32.

Tashama Banner had 15 points to lead the Lady Knight victory. Brittany Parker scored a game-high 20 points for West Columbus.
