FAIR BLUFF Mildred H. Johnson, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare.

BRYON MILLS BLAKE

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. Bryon Mills Blake died Feb. 8, 2006.
Blake was born in Chadbourn on Jan. 31, 1942, a son of the late George Mills Blake and Emma Lou Collier Blake and the husband of Barbara Bradley Blake.
He attended Campbell University and graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. He served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Final rites were held Saturday, Feb. 11 in Charleston, S.C.
Survivors other than his wife of Johns Island, S.C. is a son, Bradley Byron Blake of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter Ruthanna Blake Payne of Auburn, Ala.; a brother, George Collier Blake of Chadbourn.
Memorials may be made to The Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Fund, 165 Ashley Ave., Charleston, S.C. 29425.
WILLIAM A. BROWNLEE JR.
Retired history professor
FANCY GAP, Va. -- William “Will” Alva Brownlee Jr., 69, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at his residence. Brownlee was born in Knox County, Tenn. to the late William Alva Brownlee Sr. and Maude Mentley Brownlee and was the husband of Ella “Ellie” Nora Brownlee.
He was a retired history professor.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Kelley Lambert of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Wally Brewer of Lake Waccamaw; three grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Howard of Knoxville, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be made to Christian Children’s Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, Va. 23294-3728.
LORIS, S.C. Austin Michael Enzor, 21, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Eznor was born June 14, 1984 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., a son of Mike and Sandy Enzor. He attended New Home Baptist Church and was employed with the South Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a 2002 graduate of Conway High School where he played football and was currently attending Horry-Georgetown Technical College. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a Boy Scout.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Cecil Enzor and his maternal grandparents, Elton and Sallie Hardee.
Final rites were held Sunday, Feb. 12 at New Home Baptist Church with the Reverends Roger Chestnut and Bill Thompson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel handled the arrangements.
Survivors in addition to his parents are a brother, Kyle C. Enzor of Loris, S.C.; and his paternal grandmother, Louise N. Enzor of Fair Bluff.

CHADBOURN Mack Linden Lewis, 56, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 at his residence. He was a farm worker.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Belvue Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Lewis of New York; a son, Patrick Lewis of New York; four sisters, Olivia Lewis of Chadbourn, Odelia Wright and Josephine Lewis, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Gaythorn Brunson of Greensboro; a brother, Rudolph Lewis of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Viewing will be at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 1-5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. Viewing will be at the cemetery Friday following the service.

DELCO William “Bill” Lunsford Brewer went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare.
Born Oct. 30, 1926 at Pleasant Hill, Va., he was the son of the late Jack Vernon and Maggie Owen Brewer. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He trusted and served the Lord and was a member of Livingston Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Federal Paper Board with 34 years of service.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. at Livingston Baptist Church Thursday, Feb. 16 with burial following in the church cemetery. Officiating the service will be the Reverends Brian Beaver, Johnny Lennon, and Jimmy Grice. McKenzie Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Edith Newsome Brewer; three daughters, Jean McDowell of Pawleys Island, S.C., Janet Grice and husband Jimmy, Tina Bordeaux and husband Maxie, all of Delco; three sons, Keith Brewer and wife Diedre, Mark Brewer and wife Jo Ann, Eric Brewer and wife Donna, all of Delco; and 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stan Grice, Tim McDowell, Robbie McDowell, Landon McDowell, Brad Russ, and Adam Brewer, all grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Harrelson, Wally Brewer, Jamie Malpass, W.C. Phelps, and Daniel Poole.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Acme-Delco Fire and Rescue.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. Shalonda Yvonne Peacock Smith, 30, formerly of Columbus County, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006.
She was a former magistrate in Columbus County.
Final rites will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Union Baptist Church in the St. James community with the Pastor Ronald Campbell delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Peacock Cemetery on Jenkins Road. Union Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by a son, Cameron Malik Peacock Smith of Clarkton; her parents, Plummer “June” and Lula Peacock of Clarkton; a sister, Valeria N. Peacock of Durham.
Viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 17 from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
CHADBOURN Harry Collins, 83, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Union Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Livingston will be the speaker. Union Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by four daughters, Debra Norris, Sharon Frink, Brenda Norris, and Patricia Turner; six sons, Anthony Collins, Tyrone Norris, Fentruss Chestnutt, Eugene Norris, Lionell Norris, and Kenneth Norris.
ROBERT GEORGE DAVIS
Forest ranger and veteran
WHITEVILLE Robert George Davis, 78, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 at the Regency Hospital in Florence, S.C. He was the son of the late Bernard Davis and Elsie Stone Davis.
Davis served as a forest ranger with the N.C. Forestry Service for 20 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during World War II, Korean, and Vietnam. He attended Western Prong Baptist Church.
Final rites were held Thursday, Feb. 16 at Western Prong Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Rouse officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville handled the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Augusta Lee Collier Davis of the home; a son, David James Davis of Dillon, S.C.; a brother, Alfred Claude Davis of Jamestown; two granddaughters, Dr. Jeannie D. Sanders and husband Dr. Jeffery of Spartenburg, S.C., and Holly M. Davis of Dillon, S.C.; and a great-grandson, Holden Sanders of Spartenburg, S.C.
Memorials may be made to the Whiteville Rescue Squad.
WHITEVILLE Thelma Dudley Hinson, 92, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late Leon Claude Dudley and Josephine Hyatt Dudley. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Final rites were held Wednesday, Feb. 15 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Walker officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville handled the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly H. Barden of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; two sons, Thomas Shelby Hinson and Michael Wayne Hinson, both of Whiteville; two half-brothers, Robert Dudley of Lancaster, S.C., and Jennings Dudley of Blenheim, S.C.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
GRANBURY, Texas Henry “Charlie” C. Brown, 74, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 in Glen Rose, Texas. He was born Aug. 25, 1931 in North Carolina and was married to Ella Inez Best Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Cornerstone Community Church in Granbury. Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury, Texas is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Clayton D. Brown of Chadbourn; two step-sons, Collen Parker of Wilmington, and Joseph Dean Kennedy of Greer, S.C.
WHITEVILLE Jerry Lee Bellamy, 55, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at Columbus Regional Health-care.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James A. Scott Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Whiteville. S&L-Goodwill Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Felecia Lishoe Bellamy, Olivia Bellamy, and Sandra Bellamy; three brothers, Leon Bellamy, Herbert Bellamy, and Oscar Neal McArthur; and two sisters, Emma McMillan, and Brenda Smith.
Viewing will be held from 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the home of the Rev. Mike and Brenda Smith, 7480 Brasswell Road, Chadbourn.
TABOR CITY Randall Leon Duncan, 37, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006 in Conway Hospital. He was born in Macon, Ga., the son of Carleen Soles Duncan and the late Norman Duncan.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City conducted by the Rev. Karl Zorowski. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by a son, Dustin Randall Duncan of Tabor City; his mother, Carleen S. Duncan of Tabor City; a brother, Richard Duncan of Tabor City; two sisters, Norma Todd of Clarendon, and Tina Burckette of Tabor City.
EVERGREEN Sonya Lynn Brissey Andrews, 43, of the Boardman community died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Williamson’s Crossroads Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Lundy and the Rev. Linzy Nance officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home of Chadbourn is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Wade Andrews of the home; a daughter, Hannah LeAnne Andrews of the home; two sons, Steven Whitney Andrews, and William Zachary Andrews, both of the home; mother and step-father, Jeffie C. and Alvin Jones of Easley, S.C.; father and step-mother, William “Bill” and Libby Brissey Jr. of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Amanda B. Wood of Greer, S.C.; and a brother, David Brissey of Easley, S.C.
MIRIAM M. BUTLER

CLARENDON Miriam McCollum Butler went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, at the age of 92 years. She was born July 16, 1913, the daughter of the late John and Hattie McCollum, and was one of eight children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Tobe Butler; brothers, DeLeon, Ralph, and Howard McCollum; sisters, Inez Sutton, Esther Worrell and Bessie Hoard.
She was a respected, kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a talented crafter and a dedicated homemaker for many years. She as a living testimony to her Lord and was a charter member of Nakina Baptist Church.
Final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at Nakina Baptist Church by the Rev. Timothy Fowler and Dr. Corbin Cooper. Interment will be in Peacock’s Memorial Park. Peacock Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
Surviving are her children, Sally Butler Wilson of Shallotte, Carl Butler and wife, Hilda of Whiteville, Royce Butler and wife, Doris of Nakina, Jack Butler and wife, Patsy of Sumter, S.C., Bobby Butler of Whiteville, DeLeon Butler and wife, Xia Yu of Clarendon, Linda Butler McPherson and husband, Ronald of Riegelwood; a brother, Joe Sellers and wife, Eloise of Whiteville; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Revice Butler, Carl Butler Jr., Jack Butler Jr., Joe Butler, Ron McPherson Jr., and Rhett Butler.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the funeral home.
