W. Columbus, St. Pauls
split Southeastern tilts

ST. PAULS – Alberto De La Rosa scored 15 points while Chaz Everette and Mikey Bilal each tallied 13 Friday in the West Columbus Vikings’ 61-57 Southeastern Conference basketball victory over host St. Pauls.

The win evened the Vikings’ conference record at 3-3 as they played their third conference road game in five days. Coach Michael Powell’s Vikings, who have a 12-3 season record, led 29-23 at the half.

Everette, Bilal and De La Rosa each had a timely 3-point goal for West Columbus.

M. Green and W. McCray each had 14 points for St. Pauls.

St. Pauls won the girls game 80-37 behind Jasmine Williams’ 23 points. Nakina Grant had 16 and Lashonda Jones had 11 for the Lady Bulldogs, who held a 42-14 halftime lead.

Whitney Baker scored 15 points to lead the West Columbus girls. Alex Ward had 10.

West Columbus will entertain South Brunswick Friday in a non-conference play.
