Scorps sweep LELAND The host North Brunswick Scorpions took a pair of Waccamaw 1A-2A Conference basketball wins over South Columbus Friday. North Brunswick’s used a 25-point fourth-quarter to come away with a 54-45 victory and the Scorpion girls posted a 51-37 win. Josh Balloon led the North Brunswick boys with 15 points. Twelve Scorpion players broke in the scoring column as they avenged an earlier loss to the Stallions. Derrick Clay had 14 points and Brandon Keel had 11 for North Brunswick, which now stands at 3-3 in the conference and 6-6 overall. The North Brunswick girls gained control early, holding a 29-9 halftime lead. Latoya Hines led the Lady Scorpions with 14 points and Lisa Holden had 14 for South Columbus. The South Columbus girls are 2-4 in the conference and 3-9 overall. South Columbus will visit Whiteville tonight. GIRLS GAME
