LORIS, S.C. Grover Keith Soles, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at Conway Medical Center in Conway, S.C. He was born in Columbus County, the son of the late Armagy Theldon Soles and Eva Mae Faulk Soles.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Final rites were held Sunday, Jan. 29 at Cane Branch Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gary Harrelson. Interment followed in Twin City Memorial Gardens in Loris, S.C. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City handled the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Soles of the home; two sons, Theldon Keith Soles of Granite Falls, Kenneth Dale Soles of Statesville; three daughters, Kathy Lynn Fipps of Aynor, S.C., Tammy Jo Soles of Loris, S.C., and Gayle Koppes of Loveland, Colo.; four sisters, Clara Suggs of Hampton, Va., Betty Birdsell of Missouri, Jackie Ward of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carol Norris of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
ELIZABETHTOWN Theresa Mae Simpson, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Final rites were held Sunday, Jan. 29 at St. James Holiness Church in Council. Burial followed in Carvers Creek Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville handled the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Charise Clark and Sonita Bell of Greensboro, and Giselle Simpson of Kentucky; a son, Eric Simpson of Elizabethtown; a sister, Frances Miles of New York, N.Y.; a brother, Alfonza Brown of Riegelwood.
CRUSOE Jennifer D. Price, 29, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. She was born May 21, 1976 in Blooming Grove, Texas, the daughter of the late Dan Nicholson and Linda Nicholson Huddlenston.
She attended Texas A&M and graduated from Navarro Community College with an associate degree in art. She was formerly employed with Walmart in Whiteville and Blooming Grove, Texas.
Final rites were held Monday, Jan. 30 at Peacock’s Chapel In The Pines by the Reverends Scott Cumbee and Ervin Etheridge. Interment followed in Columbus Memorial Park. Peacocks Funeral Home of Whiteville handled the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Rocky Price; a daughter, McKenzie Price of the home; a sister, Dana Nicholson of Blooming Grove, Texas; paternal grandmother, Ethelyne Nicholson of Blooming Grove, Texas; maternal step-grandmother, Sandra Palmer of Corsicana, Texas; and step-father, Gary and step-mother, Glendine Huddleston of Post Oak Bend, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the home of William and Debbie Price, 2678 Dock Road, Whiteville.

DUBLIN Geneva Carroll Guyton, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at Bladen County Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Emmett Guyton.
A memorial services was held Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church in Dublin by the Rev. Joe Foster and Dr. Bill Young. Burial followed in Center Road Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro. Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown handled the arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, David B. Guyton of Newport, Dural Guyton of Leland, Bobby R. Guyton of White Lake, and Donald L. Guyton of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Jane G. Britt of Bladenboro; a brother, Edward Carroll of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Gertrude C. Garner of Dublin; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchld.

FAIR BLUFF Minnie E. “Sylvia” Bullock, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Final rites were held Sunday, Jan. 29 at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Fair Bluff by the Rev. Thomas Register. Burial followed in Butler Branch Church Cemetery in Fair Bluff. S&L Funeral Home of Fair Bluff handled the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Tony Bullock of Jonesboro, Ga.; two daughters, Ruth Ferebee and Cynthia Keel, both of Fayetteville; three sisters, Landies Bullock of Trenton, N.J., Patricia P. Bullock and Judy Scott, both of Fair Bluff; three brothers, John Scott Jr., Donnie R. Scott, and James Manuel Scott, all of Fair Bluff; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
CHADBOURN Mary “Estella” McClellon, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville.
Final rites were held Saturday, Jan. 28 at S&L Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Belvue Cemetery in Chadbourn. S&L Funeral Home of Fair Bluff handled the arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Lillie Flowers of Chadbourn, and Rosa Lee Reed of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Ruben Jackson and Ernest McClellon, both of Washington, D.C.
JEWEL H. FORMYDUVAL

WHITEVILLE Jewel Horne Formyduval, 83, of the Old Dock community, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was the daughter of the late John W. Horne and Lula Vinson Horne.
Formyduval was a member of the Palmyra Baptist Church and was a teacher at Old Dock Elementary School for 29 years.
Final rites will be held Monday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at Palmyra Baptist Church with the Rev. Oscar Hullender officiating with burial following in the Columbus Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Ishmael Formyduval of the home; two sons, Ishmael Formyduval Jr. of Southport, and Kim Formyduval of Columbia, S.C.; a daughter, Jewel Formyduval Dart of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, James Caldwell Horne of Autryville; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
CHADBOURN Elbert E. “Gene” Williamson, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at his residence. He was the son of the late Zebulon and Mary Susan Nance Williamson.
Williamson was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy.
Final rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at Worthington Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Smith officiating. Interment will be held at a later time. Worthington Funeral Home of Chadbourn is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by four sisters, Edith W. Strickland and Frances W. Williamson, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Uldene W. Green and Margaret Bartrop, both of Cerro Gordo; three brothers, Ben F. Williamson and Hybert Williamson, both of Chadbourn, and Dr. Ray Williamson of Supply.
Visitation will be held one hour (6-7 p.m. Monday) at the funeral home.
MOTHER HALLIE ROSE POWELL

WHITEVILLE Mother Hallie Rose Powell, 97, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was a homemaker.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Union Funeral Home of Whiteville.
Survivors include a son, Charles Greer Powell of the home, one grandson and three granddaughters.
LEXINGTON James “Jimmy” Richard Hayden, 61, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 23, 1944 in Nelson Coundy, North Dakota to Albert Hayden and Olga Ramsey Hayden. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Richard Hayden.
He attended Devil’s Lake School for the Deaf in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. He was very active in his church.
Final rites were held Monday, Jan. 30 at First Baptist Church of Welcome where he was a member by the Rev. Mark Blair. Burial followed at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville. Davidson Funeral Home of Lexington handled the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Olga Amanda Hayden of Whiteville; a son Danny Joe Hayden of Morganton; two daughters, Darlene Newton and Peggy Belcher, both of Morganton; a brother, Roger Hayden of Whiteville; five sisters, Carol Shuman and Janet Hinson, both of Whiteville, Eileen Holcomb of Gwinner, North Dakota, Linda Crawford of Fargo, North Dakota, and Patti Brecto of Ulen, Minn.; and eight grandchildren.
