The Clarkton Dixie Youth Baseball Complex will be the site of the 2006 District 2 AAA supplemental tournament.

The four-team double-elimination tournament gets underway Friday with special opening ceremonies.

Tournament play will begin Saturday with Whiteville going against Nakina on Field 1 on 6 p.m., and Columbus County squaring off with Bladen County at 7 on Field 2. The tournament will run through Tuesday or Wednesday.

Friday’s opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m., opening ceremonies as well as several contests for participating teams and players. There will be base-running relay contest, a throw for distance and accuracy contest and a home run derby. Prized donated by Merritt’s Sporting Goods will be awarded to winners.

There will be no admission charged to Friday’s opening ceremonies.

SUNDAY
Game 3 – Loser 1 vs. Loser 2 (6)
Game 4 – Winner 1 vs. Winner 2 (6)

Game 5 – Winner 3 vs. Loser 4 (7)

TUESDAY
Game 6 – Winner 4 vs. Winner 5 (7)

WEDNESDAY
