The Columbus County Dixie Youth Baseball League will hold its annual post-season tournament Saturday and Sunday at Evergreen’s Bill Johnson Field.

Minor league action will begin Saturday at 2 p.m., with Cerro Gordo meeting Hallsboro. At 4, regular-season champion Evergreen will take on Lake Waccamaw.

Saturday’s Major league play will begin at 6 with Evergreen squaring off with Lake Waccamaw, At 8, regular-season champion Hallsboro will take on Cerro Gordo.

The minor-league championship will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.

At 4 p.m., prior to the major-league championship game, the crowning of league queens will be held.

The major-league championship game is scheduled to begin at 4:30.

Daily admission will be $2 for adults. Children ages 12-and-under will be admitted free.

The Hallsboro major-league team won its ninth straight regular-season championship this season. The Evergreen minor-league team halted Hallsboro’s six-year grip on the league title.

The Columbus County Dixie Youth Baseball League was established in 1971.
