West Columbus senior righthander John David White fires a pitch during Game 2 of the state 1A baseball championship series Saturday in Raleigh. White struck out seven Chatham Central batters in 6 2/3 innings in the 9-2 Vikings win. Chatham Central came back on Sunday to down the Vikings 13-3 to claim the best-of-three series.
