| The West Columbus Vikings takes to the diamond (top photo) at N.C. State University’s Doak Field for pre-game warm-ups during last weekend’s the state 1A baseball playoff series with Chatham Central. In above photo, WC’s Ryan McCleney gets plunked by a pitch in Game 2. Chatham Central won the opening game 9-8 before West Columbus came back to win the second game 9-2. In the third and deciding game, Chatham Central posted a 13-3 victory to claim the state 1A title.
