Coach Ricky Young’s West Columbus team posted a 12-1 victory to put its season record at 7-0. Whiteville slipped to 2-5 with the loss to equal the number of regular-season losses it had all of last season. West Columbus will open Southeastern 1A-2A Conference play on Tuesday at when it travels to meet Fairmont. Whiteville will step into Waccamaw 1A-2A Conference play Tuesday when it journeys to Lake Waccamaw to take on East Columbus.
