Lady Pack gets league
soccer win over Trask

ROCKY POINT - By dominating second-half play, the Whiteville High girls soccer team pulled away to a 5-3 Waccamaw 1A-2A Conference victory over Heide Trask on Monday.

The victory put Whiteville’s conference record at 2-1 and its season record at 3-6.

Junior Mary Kindschuh pulled a hat trick with a goal in the first half and two goals in the second half. Sarah Gore scored the other two Lady Wolfpack goals.

Brandi Drayton recorded three assists for WHS and goalkeeper Katie Bastug was credited with six saves.

The score was tied 2-2 at the half before Coach Mike Buckpitt’s Whiteville squad took charge in the second period.

Leah Chapelle and Gabby Kaderaka had goals for Trask. Trask goalie Hillary Winter cam up with nine saves.

Whiteville played Wednesday night at South Brunswick (see result in A-section) and is scheduled to play host to Cape Fear Academy of Wilmington today at 6 p.m.
