Kenneth Ellis is one of dozens of volunteers working on a new playground in Chadbourn. The event needs volunteer workers through Sunday and, in trade for their enthusiasm, elbow grease and some skills, will offer camaraderie, meals, day care services and the rewarding feeling of building something substantial for their community.
