Knights trip Pack

The visiting West Bladen Knights scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning Friday in a 7-5 non-conference baseball victory over the Whiteville Wolfpack at Legion Stadium.

The loss dropped the Whiteville record to 0-2 while West Bladen improved to 1-1.

Whiteville held a 4-1 lead after four innings before the big Knight surge in the fifth.

Whiteville had 10 hits, including two each by Scott Stephens, Robbie Penny and Cameron White. White had a triple.

Zack Spivey, Lloyd Enzor, Stephens and Sprandon Mahoney pitched for Coach Brett Harwood’s Whiteville team.

Benson was the winning pitcher for West Bladen while Brisson had two hits, including a double.

Whiteville will play host to East Bladen on Tuesday and will travel to play West Columbus on Friday. Both games will begin at 5 p.m.
