Student art fest By CLARA CARTRETTE Celebrate the Arts, North Carolina’s largest student arts festival, will be held at East Columbus High School on Sunday, March 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. The event involves all art disciplines. High school students will showcase their creative talents in all art disciplines visual art, choral, band, drama and dance. Middle school students will participate in visual arts, band and chorus, and younger students will showcase their visual arts skills. To have a piece of art work chosen for display or to be selected to perform in the other art disciplines means the student has made All-County in his or her respective art discipline. Art teachers at all of the schools select the visual arts, and band, chorus, drama and dance students auditioned for their All-County status. Visual arts by all age groups will be displayed in the gym. Performances will be held in the auditorium.
