BOILING SPRING LAKES - The Whiteville Lady Wolfpack lost for the fifth time in its last six conference games in a 1-0 heartbreaker to the host South Brunswick Lady Cougars.

Whiteville saw its conference record slip to 4-5 in the shutout loss.

South Brunswick, which improved to 4-4, got the game’s lone run on an RBI double by Courtney Gainey in the sixth inning. The Lady Cougars had a total of three hits.

Emily Cole had a double for Whiteville while Amanda Pope, Samantha Smith, Olivia Williams and Nicole Storms had singles.
