In a rematch of last year’s NCISAA sate 1A championship game, Lawrence Academy took a 6-3 baseball win over the host Waccamaw Academy Warriors Friday afternoon.

Waccamaw Academy, the three-time defending NCISAA 1A champion, had its Thursday conference game with Trinity of Fayetteville rained out.

Coach Robbie Allen’s Warriors have home games this Thursday and Friday with Harrells Christian Academy and Flora Macdonald Academy respectively and will close out their regular-season schedule next Monday with a home game against West Bladen.

The WA baseball team has won nine state titles since 1989.
