The Waccamaw Academy Warrior baseball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule Tuesday with a 7-2 loss to visiting West Bladen.

Waccamaw Academy, carrying a 13-13 record, will step into NCISAA state 1A playoff action next Tuesday.

Senior Dustin Williamson allowed one hit and struck out nine batters in a four-inning start.

Williamson also had two hits, including a double, while Warren Fischer, Kyle Hufham, Justin Rhodes and Ben Rouse each had a hit.

Waccamaw Academy is the three-time defending NCISAA 1A champion. Coach Robbie Allen’s Warriors have won nine state championships since 1989.
