RANDY LENNUE STRICKLAND
LAKE WACCAMAW - Randy Lennue Strickland, 52, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare. Strickland was preceded in death by his father, Lennue Strickland and his brother, Sandy Strickland.
Final rites were held Wednesday, May 3 at Meares Funeral Home with the Reverends Josh Phillips and Elmore Strickland officiating. Burial followed in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Meares Funeral Home of Fair Bluff handled the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Lucille McPherson Strickland of Whiteville; his son, Derek Strickland and his wife Scarlet of Fair Bluff, a nephew, Cary Strickland of Chadbourn, and his grandson, Cody Derek Strickland.

WHITEVILLE - Curtis Devon Smith Sr., 73, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 in Columbus Regional Healthcare. He was born in Brunswick County, the son of the late Jay and Ethel Milligan Smith.
Final rites were held Wednesday, May 3 at the Inman Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Billy Smith with interment following in the Smith Cemetery in Ash. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City handled the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Curtis Smith Jr. of Bladenboro; a brother, David Dwight Hardee of Clarendon; a sister, Vesta Mae Beecham of Shallotte; two step-sons, Kent Cannady of Chadbourn, and Kevin Cannady of Greensboro; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

WHITEVILLE - Joleen Durante Reaves, 49, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at her residence. She was a farm worker.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Jerusalem Temple Fellowship and Deliverance. Burial will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Lee Reaves; four sisters, Lottie Washington of Tampa, Fla., Angela Durante of Tabor City, Wendy Hamilton of Whiteville, and JoAnn Durante of Dillon, S.C.; three brothers, Sylvester Durante of Roanoke Rapids, Joseph Durante, and Ronnie Durante of Whiteville.
Viewing will be at the funeral home Thursday, May 4 from noon until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. Viewing will also be at the church Friday following the service.
There will be a wake Thursday, May 4 from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
WHITEVILLE - Sadie Harrelson Ward, 79, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Claude Oliver Harrelson and Eva Hatchel and the widow of John David Ward.
Ward was a member of Old Dock United Methodist Church.
Final rites were held Thursday, May 4 at Old Dock United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carroll Fitzgerald officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. McKenzie Funeral Home of Whiteville handled the arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney English of Fayetteville, and Michael Preston English of Laurinburg; two daughters, Linda Faye Norris, and Joyce W. Sammons of Tabor City, and a sister, Peggy Jean Harrelson of Florida; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children, and three great-great-grandchildren.

TABOR CITY - Trudy Walker, 79, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006. She was born Aug. 26, 1926 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late William Edward and Elma Veta Jennrette Jacobs. She was the widow of Edward Walker.
She was formerly the bookkeeper with Simmons Drug Store and Mast Drugs. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Reverends David Watts and Kerry Peeler officiating. Peacocks Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, William "Bill" Irwin and wife, Marilyn of Little River, S.C.; a daughter, Barbara Irwin Vetrano and husband, Sam of Tabor City; two brothers, Noah Jacobs of Georgetown, S.C., and Floyd Jacobs of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Bill Irwin of Summerville, S.C., Michele Irwin Gore of Milford, N.H., Sammy Lee Vetrano II of Bolivia, Robbie Irwin of Clarendon, Steven M. Vetrano of Whiteville, and Brian D. Vetrano of Smithfield; and 12 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Estaline Long and Nell Mason.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, May 4 at Antioch Baptist Church.

SALISBURY - Hiram Johnson Cuthrell, 88, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Rowan Regional Medical Center here.
Cuthrell will be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Summersett Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
ANNIE MARGARET HILL LEDBETTER
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. - Annie Margaret Hill Ledbetter, 96, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Beverly Healthcare in Hen-dersonville. She was the widow of William Percy Ledbetter.
She was the last survivor of 11 children of the late Hardy Wallace Hill and Agnes Ella Lee Hill of Malvern, Ark.
Final rites will take place at Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern, Ark. with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery there. Cannon Funerals Home of Fountain Inn, S.C. is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy L. Malphrus and her husband, Lamar of Fountain Inn, S.C.; two sons, William Hardy Ledbetter and wife, Anne of Whiteville, and Percy Daniel Ledbetter of Paradise, Calif.; six grand-children, Duane Lamar Malphrus Jr. and wife, Marj, Carolyn "Calley" Foster and husband, Lewis, Peggy Cinelly and her husband, Peter, all of Greenville County, S.C.; Ward Percy Ledbetter and wife, Michelle of Cheraw, S.C., Julia Nelle Ledbetter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and William Edward Ledbetter of Citrus Heights, Calif.; 11 great-grand-children, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5 from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home in Fountain Inn.

LAKE WACCAMAW - Esther Rae Strickland Waters, 63, and formerly of Cerro Gordo died Monday, May 1, 2006 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late James Harley and Lela Mae Jolly Strickland.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Worthington Funeral Home with the Reverends Ed Spivey and Dewey Hilburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Cemetery at Cerro Gordo. Worthington Funeral Home of Chadbourn is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Norris Richardson of Albemarle and Tonya Norris Ward of Chadbourn; a son, Michael D. Norris of Chesapeake, Va.; sisters, Ruth Hayes and Doris Blackwell, both of Cerro Gordo, and Gayle Bryant of Bladenboro; a brother, D.K. Strickland of Ozark, Ala.; three grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 4 at the funeral home.

ROWLAND - Angela R. Green, 48, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
Final rites will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7 at United Pentecostal Church of Christ #1 in Dillon, S.C. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Rowland. Hill Funeral Home of Fairmont is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include her mother, Rosa Lee Green; three brothers, Gleen McQueen, Sterling Watson, and Byron Ford; a sister, Elizabeth Ann McQueen.
Viewing will be held Saturday, May 6 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Hill's Memorial Chapel, 402 M.L.K. Drive in Rowland.
ANDREW 'ANDY' M. MOULSDALE

FAYETTEVILLE - Andrew "Andy" Morlok Moulsdale, 84, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Highland House Nursing Center here.
He was a native of Hartford County, Maryland and was the son of the late Andrew Gilbert and Marie Morlok Moulsdale. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy.
Final rites were held Wednesday, May 3 at Porter Swamp Baptist Church with the Reverends Tim Moore and Al Puester. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Kate Hilburn Moulsdale of Fayetteville and formerly of Columbus County; two daughters, Janis M. Wooten of Fayetteville, and Katherine M. Myers of Ridgely, W. Va.; three sisters, Rosalla Glenn of Pikesville, Md., Dorothy Edwards of Aberdeen Md., and Carol Reitz of Belair, Md.; and three grandchilddren.
CHADBOURN - Joseph Brown Jr., 64, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Columbus Regional Healthcare.
Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7 at Jerusalem Chapel Freewill Baptist Church of Chadbourn. Burial will follow in Belvue Cemetery in Chadbourn. D&A Funeral Home of Chadbourn is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Memory Brown of Chadbourn; five brothers, David Underwood, Randolph Brown, Leon Brown, and Jerome Brown, all of Chadbourn, Elder Ronald Brown of Spring Lake; four sisters, Joanna "J.B." Childress, Ada Roseboro, both of Chadbourn, Evangelist Helen Batts of Valley Springs, N.Y., and Dibella Pierce of El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 6 from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Sunday at the church from 1-2 p.m. and immediately after the service.
