Stallions to entertain Swansboro in state dual-team tennis opener

The Waccamaw Conference champion South Columbus High School boys tennis team will play host to Swansboro Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., in the opening round of the state 2A dual team playoffs.

Coach Nathan Faulk’s Stallion tennis team breezed through conference regular-season play unbeaten and then dominated play in last week’s conference tournament.

The SCHS squad consists of Lucas Ford, Adam Lanier, Trey Allen, Cameron Burroughs, Chris Fowler and Dusty Prince. Alternates are Shaun Benton and Winslow Phipps.

On Friday, all six regulars of the Stallion tennis squad will travel to Greenville to compete in the East 2A Regional tournament.

Also competing in the East Regional 2A will be Whiteville High’s Brad McNeill, Stephen Benton, Jamie White and Zachary Williams.

West Columbus High’s Dewight Strickland has qualified for 1A regional play.
