All four Columbus County high school girls tennis teams will step into state dual-team playoff action on Tuesday.

East Columbus of the Waccamaw Conference is scheduled to entertain West Columbus of the Southeastern Conference Tuesday at 4 p.m., in the opening round of the 1A playoffs.

Both East Columbus and West Columbus had top 1A finishes in their respective conferences.

Undefeated South Columbus, the Waccamaw Conference champion for the second straight year, will play host to Croatan of the East Central Conference on Tuesday at 3:30 in the opening round of the state 2A playoffs.

Whiteville, the runnerup in the Waccamaw Conference, has received a wild-card berth in the 2A playoffs and will travel to play Southeastern Conference champion Fairmont Tuesday at 4 .

Regional tennis tournament action will be held Friday and Saturday with dual team play resuming on Oct. 24.
