N. Brunswick runs past Vikings

CERRO GORDO - The visiting North Brunswick Scorpions used a three-touchdown effort by running back Josh Balloon Saturday night en route to a 41-6 non-conference football victory over the West Columbus Vikings.

The game was postponed to Saturday night by effects of Tropical Storm Ernesto.

It was the second straight loss for West Columbus, which had opened its season with a 48-25 victory over Dixon.

West Columbus (1-2) will travel to play longtime rival Whiteville this Friday. It will be the 42nd renewal of the rivalry.

North Brunswick (1-1) will journey to Jacksonville to meet Northside.
