Gators romp past

LAKE WACCAMAW - The East Columbus Gator baseball team snapped a three-game Waccamaw Conference losing streak Tuesday by taking a 10-1 victory over the visiting Pender Patriots.
Chad Malpass was the winning pitcher while Demtrius McKelvie had two hits, including a triple and drove in three runs.
Alan Bracey also had two hits.
Malpass pitched until the sixth inning when he was relieved by B.J. Patrick
Coach Karl Bracey’s Gators had a total of 10 hits. They led 4-0 after three innings before scoring three runs in the fourth inning and three more runs in the fifth.
Pender scored its lone run in the fifth inning.
East Columbus played Wednesday night at South Brunswick.
