| Relay begins Friday The 2007 Relay for Life is from Friday noon until Saturday noon at Southeastern Community College. The News Reporter is providing 24-hour coverage of the event, including hourly updates on the newspaper’s website whiteville.com. The RFL schedule is also accessible at whiteville.com, as will be ongoing photo updates from the event. Video interviews are planned as well. (See 11-A of our printed edition for more information.) New this year are several Saturday activities, including a motorcycle show, tethered hot air balloon rides and kids activities such as the moon bounce and slides. An important addition to Saturday morning will be the free skin cancer screenings from 8-10 a.m., sponsored by Drs. Eric Kenyon and Jim DiMuzio of Coastal Carolina ENT. Relay For Life is the America Cancer Society’s signature fundraising even 24 hours that celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs used by the ACS to fight the disease that touches the lives of millions of people each year.
