Wolfpack takes 7-0 victory over Pender

The Whiteville Wolfpack posted its fifth shutout in eight Waccamaw Conference baseball games Tuesday night, turning back the Pender Patriots 7-0 at Legion Stadium.

Zach Stanley chalked up his second pitching victory in as many games, pitching six innings and allowing two hits while striking out 12 batters. Michael Wright, who has been sidelined the past two weeks by mono, pitched the final innig for the Wolfpack, striking out the side.

Stanley was credited with the win last Friday’s 4-2 comeback conference win over East Columbus, throwing the sixth inning in relief of starter Trey Nye.

WHS took an 8-0 conference record and 16-3 season mark into last night’s Waccamaw Conference home game with South Columbus. (See result in A-section).

Whiteville cather Lloyd Garrett Enzor walloped a home run and Wright knocked a triple in his only at bat. Trey Nye and Robbie Penny had doubles.
Coach Brett Harwood’s Wolfpack scored a run in the second inning and two in the third before scoring four runs in the sixth.
