After opening their 2007 season with an impressive 42-0 road victory over the St. Pauls Bulldogs Friday, the South Columbus High football team has an open date this week. Coach Joey Price’s Stallion squad will resume its schedule on Aug. 31, when it travels to play longtime border rival Loris, S.C., in their annual Labor Day weekend shoot-out. South Columbus, which stormed to a 28-0 first-half lead over St. Pauls last week, will be out to gain its sixth straight victory over the Loris squad next week. The Stallions topped the Lions 14-0 in last year’s contest played at South Columbus. Loris will open its season this Friday against North Myrtle Beach.
