Everette signs with Kansas JUCO
Recent West Columbus High School graduate Chaz Everette, the 2006 and 2007 Columbus County Boys Basketball Player of the Year, signs a letter-of-intent Friday to play for Barton County Community College of Kansas. Everette, a three-year starter at guard for Coach Michael Powell’s WCHS squad, led the Vikings in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals in each of the past two seasons. He helped pace the Vikings to a two-year record of 47 wins and 8 losses as well as back-to-back Southeastern 1A-2A Conference Tournament championships. Barton County Community College competes in the highly competitive Region 6 of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The 2007 Cougar squad finished the season with a 27-7 record.
