Scrimmages set for county
high-school football teams

Aside from the traditional scrimmages of the BB&T Jamboree, Columbus County high school football teams are involved in several other scrimmage match-ups.

This morning, South Columbus had a home scrimmage with West Brunswick, and this evening at 6, Whiteville High School will play host to Wilmington Ashley. Admission to the WHS-Ashley scrimmage will be $3.

Also tonight at 6, West Columbus will play host to South Robeson and Green Sea-Floyds in a three-way scrimmage and East Columbus will be at Fayetteville’s Pine Forest High School at 7:30 competing against Gray’s Creek in the Cumberland County Short Stop Jamboree.
On Saturday morning at 10, East Columbus will entertain North Brunswick, and West Columbus will visit Red Springs.
The 2007 season opens on Aug. 17.
