Festival of Trees opens today

Dr. Ray Thigpen of Whiteville adjusts an ornament on the 30-foot-tall tree he donated to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Festival of Trees. Visitors to the North Carolina Museum of Forestry for the event this week will also see 30 decorated indoor Christmas trees.
