Because the college baseball season runs from February through early May, teams must begin their pre-season practices in January, often in frigid weather conditions. Southeastern, which posted a 20-26 record last season in Autry’s first year as head coach, will open its 2007 season Feb. 10-11 when it plays host to the North Carolina State University club team. Area high school teams will open pre-season drills on Feb. 12.
