Wilcox watch

Chris Wilcox

Chris Wilcox scored 25 points and had seven rebounds Sunday night in helping led the Seattle SuperSonics to a 114-103 NBA victory over the Sacramento Kings at Sacramento. On Saturday, the former Whiteville High basketball star scored 10 points and had 11 rebounds in a 114-93 loss to Sacramento at Seattle. On Wednesday, the Sonics snapped a 15-game road losing streak by edging past the Indiana Pacers 103-102 with Wilcox scoring 17 points and collecting four rebounds. The Sonics now have a 19-32 season record.

Four South Columbus players score in double figures to pace the Stallion boys to a 71-49 Waccamaw Conference basketball victory over host West Columbus. Kelly McClure scores 18 points, followed by Ben Jordan with 17, Shawn Williams with 16 and Bryan Dixon with 14 as Coach Emmett Lay’s Stallions avenge an 88-68 home-court loss to the Vikings three weeks earlier. The win vaults the Stallions toward a tie for the conference championship with East Bladen.
