Chris Wilcox

Seattle SuperSonics power forward Chris Wilcox came away with a double-double in a 121-105 NBA victory Tuesday over the Memphis Grizzlies. The former Whiteville High star scored 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Sonics claimed their third straight win. Seattle will play Friday at New Orleans and Saturday at San Antonio.

The East Columbus High School Lady Gator basketball team makes a five-hour bus trip to the Outer Banks and Kill Devil Hills to take on the First Flight Lady Nighthawks in the opening round of the state 2A girls playoffs. The First Flight squad prevails 54-40. Dawn Brown scores nine points, all on 3-point baskets, to lead Lady Gator scorers.
