Warriors claim first 2006-07 basketball victory

Chris Richardson, a recent transfer from Durham’s Mt. Zion Academy, poured in 30 points Friday night in helping lead the Waccamaw academy warriors to a 72-65 win over visiting Flora Macdonald Academy.

It was the first win of the season for the Warriors, who got the most from the inside play of the 6-foot-7, 235-pound Richardson.

Sterling Graham followed with 16 points and Iyub McAllister scored 12.

In the girls game, Flora Macdonald came away with a 45-13 win.

Duncan led FMA scorers with 13 points while Caroline Scott had five for Waccamaw Academy.
