WC boys, SR girls
take hoop victories ROWLAND Chaz Everette’s 20 points led the way Friday night for the West Columbus Vikings in a 72-61 Southeastern Conference basketball victory over the host South Robeson Mustangs. Everette connected on four 3-point goals for the Vikings, who led 34-22 at the half. The Vikings improved their season record to 11-2 and concluded the first round of conference play with a 5-1 record. Mikey Bilal tallied 12 points, including two three-pointers, followed by Quintez Ward with 11 and Mario Cisneros with 10. Ten WCHS players figured in the scoring. West Columbus, which holds down second place in the conference behind league-leading West Bladen, led at halftime 34-22. Corey Thompson led South Robeson scorers with 16 points. South Robeson won the girls game 47-28 with Shay McEachern, Jasmine Blue and Brittany Jones scoring 10 points each for the Lady Mustangs. The West Columbus were led by Alyssa Faulk with seven points and Samantha Blackwell with six. West Columbus will play travel to play Fairmont on Friday. GIRLS GAME
