Whiteville All-Stars
District 2 Dixie Youth AAA Supplemental champions

RIEGELWOOD - The Whiteville All-Stars came away with a 17-9 victory over Bladen County last Tuesday to win the championship of the District 2 Dixie Youth AAA Supplemental (Minor League) Baseball Tournament.

It marked the third straight win the four-team double-elimination tournament for Whiteville.
Taylor Smith went the distance on the mound and Malik Watson hit a double and a triple to help lead the title-clinching win

Smith, Turner Brown, Hunter Cartrette, Nathan Powell had two hits each.

Grayson Ward and Aaron Buffkin each had one hit. Turner and Smith each scored three runs while Ward, Powell, Aaron Buffkin and Malik Watson each scored twice. Carterette, Griffin and Noah Griffin each added a run.

The team, coached by Chris Brown, Mike Cartrette and Byron Ward, had advanced to the championship round by defeating Columbus County 8-2 and Nakina 12-2 in the first two rounds of play.
