The Columbus County Dixie Majors (ages 17-19) All-Stars will play host to the Stanly County All-Stars in a best-of-three series, beginning Friday night at 7 at Whiteville’s Legion Stadium.

The Columbus squad, coached by T.J. Spivey and Joey Autry, advanced to the state final by defeating Bladen County in a best-of-three series last week.

Game 2 of the state title series will be played Saturday at noon with Game 3, if necessary, set to begin 30 minutes after the completion of the Game 2 set for Saturday .

The winner will receive a berth in the 2007 Dixie Majors World Series, which is scheduled to open July 28 at Florence, S.C.

Members of the Columbus County squad are Ryan McCleney, Scott Stephens, Zack Andrews, Ethan Ward, Donovan Watts, DeMichael Smith, Devon Brown, Cory Duncan, Jordan Carter, Dusty Duncan, Cody Sawyer, Justin Ward, Jeremy Harrelson, Phillip Jackson, Kyle Canady and Jonathan Cox.
