RIEGELWOOD - Whiteville Optimist became the lone unbeaten team in the District 2 Dixie Youth AAA Baseball Tournament Monday night as it defeated Columbus County 9-5 in the winner’s bracket game.

In other third-round play Monday, South Columbus eliminated Nakina 6-1, and Bladen County eliminated the host Riegelwood team.

In supplemental tournament play, Bladen County outlasted Nakina 14-13.
