Louisburg hoop signees

East Columbus High School basketball standouts Jermaine Waddell, seated second from left with his mother Amber Waddell, and B.J. Patrick, seated second from right with his mother Rene Patrick, sign letters-of-intent to play basketball for Louisburg College. Both have been big forces for the Gators in their back-to-back Waccamaw 1A-2A Conference championships of the past two seasons. Also pictured are standing, left to right, ECHS assistant basketball coach Odell Graham, head basketball coach Clarence Ganus and principal Mark Bridgers. Louisburg, coached by Aaron Denton, is a member of Region 10 of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The 6-foot-5 Waddell was the Gators’ starting center, and the 6-2 Patrick has handled guard and forward positions. Patrick also plans to play baseball at Louisburg.
