Six countians to play in State Games at Greensboro

Six rising senior baseball players will play for the Region 4 All-Stars in the 2007 State Baseball Games set for Thursday through Sunday at Greensboro.

Whiteville High pitcher/infielder Michael Wright and catcher Lloyd Enzor; South Columbus High infielder Donovan Watts and catcher Dakota Piver; East Columbus pitcher/outfielder Caleb Andrews;; and West Columbus infielder/pitcher Timothy Brown.

Jack Britt High School coach Sam Guy will be head coach of the Region 4 team, which will open play on Thursday against the Region 8 team. Veteran West Columbus High School head baseball coach Ricky Young will serve as the team’s assistant coach.

Games in the eight-team round-robin event will be held at UNC-Greensboro field, War Memorial Stadium and Grasshopper Stadium.
