Moped mishap

Bobby Vernon Lee, 43, of Chadbourn, is being attended to by a passerby and Whiteville Fire Department personnel Wednesday after his moped slammed into the side of a car that turned in front of him at 4:33 p.m. on Virgil Street, just west of the U.S. 701 Bypass. Betty Rackley Herring, 52, also of Chadbourn, was ticketed for failing to yield. Lee sustained abrasions as he was thrown to the pavement.
