Stallions trip NBHS
in eight-inning thriller

LELAND - Dakota Piver drove a run-scoring triple and scored on a ground out by Buster James Tuesday night as the South Columbus Stallions pulled out a 9-7 eight inning baseball victory over the host North Brunswick Scorpions.

The game was the Waccamaw 1A-2A Conference opener for both squads. Coach Willie Gore’s Stallions are the defending conference co-champion.

Pat Worley was the winning pitcher after relieving starter Ethan Ward in the seventh inning.

South Columbus, which now holds a 5-3 season record, will meet Fairmont today in a non-conference game at Fairmont.
