Keith Frink strikes out 11 batters and Keith Ransom’s two-run homer is one of seven extra-base hits for the West Columbus Vikings as they take a 10-4 Three Rivers 3A Conference baseball victory over the visiting West Brunswick Trojans to put their season record at 13-5-1. Shortstop Jamie Farris collects three hits for Coach Arnold Harwood’s Vikings while James Faulk clouts a triple and a double. Michael Smith connectes for two doubles while Frink and Danny Britt also add doubles for the Vikings, who easily get to West Brunswick starter Matt Gore in the early innnings. Gore had shut down the Vikings in their earlier conference meeting.

In other Columbus County baseball action, Hallsboro High catcher David Martin drives a late RBI single to preserve a strong pitching performance by Michael Comber in a 4-3 East Waccamaw 2A Conference victory over the visiting Tabor City Red Devils.
