RONALD THOMAS BASS


TABOR CITY -- Ronald Thomas Bass, 65, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at his residence. He was the son of the late T.S. and Myrtle Kellihan Bass.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Kendell Cameron officiating. Worthington Funeral Home of Chadbourn is handling the arrangements.


Survivors include a son, Tommy Bass of Whiteville; a daughter, Kelly Bass of Whiteville; a sister, Gisele Artz of Bradenton, Fla.; brothers, Gary C. Bass of Whiteville and George P. Bass of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a grandson.


Visitation will be held one hour prior to the served at the funeral home.

JUNE A. MACE


HALLSBORO -- June A. Mace, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Columbus Regional Healthcare.


Final rites will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel in Whiteville with Father Padre León officiating. Cremation will follow. Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.


Survivors include a daughter, Sonya La Forté of Hallsboro; sons, Kenric La Forté of Wasilla, Alaska, Lemuel La Forté of Hallsboro, and Paul Williams of New Jersey.


Viewing will be at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 1 from noon until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of service.

LEE B. MUNN


LAKE WACCAMAW -- Lee B. Munn, 71, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Columbus Regional Healthcare.


A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at First New Light Church Cemetery in White Oak. Bladen Funeral Home of Elizabethtown is handling the arrangements.


Survivors include a brother, Charles Munn of Fair Bluff; three sisters, Emma Jane Oliver, Elizabeth Jones, and Lillie Mae Munn, all of Fayetteville.

EVA MAE FOWLER


LORIS, S.C. -- Eva Mae Fowler, 85, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Loris Healthcare. She was born in Horry County, the daughter of the late Charles A. Graham Sr. and Janie Edwards Graham. She was the widow of Harvey Edward Fowler.


Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Inman Chapel with the Reverends Alvin Jackson and John Gary McMillian III officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Cemetery in Loris. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City is handling the arrangements.


Survivors include a daughter, Ann H. McMillian Jernigan of Green Sea, S.C.; a son, Harvey Arthur Fowler of Loris, S.C.; and three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a grandson.


Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

ALBERT TILLMEN HATHWAY


WHITEVILLE -- Albert Tillmen Hathway, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at his residence. He was the son of the late Daniel Monroe Hathway and Frances Ward Hathway and was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Ward Hathway and a daughter, Carolyn Caison and two sons, Robert James Hathway and John Wayne Hathway.


Hathway was a farmer and owned a welding shop. He served in the United States Army during World War II.


Final rites will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Reverends Sallie Hathway and Dale Hathway officiating. Burial will follow in the Hosea-Simmons Cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.


Survivors include daughters, Doretha Thompson and Joyce Long, both of Whiteville, and Mildred Benton of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the funeral home.

MAXINE MITCHELL JOYNER


CHADBOURN -- Maxine Mitchell Joyner, 33, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Carrolls Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville.


Final rites and viewing from noon until time for funeral will be held at Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. David Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Stephen-Wright Cemetery. S&L Goodwill of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.


Survivors include her husband, Michael K. Joyner; a daughter, Danielle Nicole Tynez Elliott; mother, Jenny Vee Mitchell; sisters, Frances Ann Poole and Anna Bell Shipman; and a brother, Clyde Issac Faulk.


Viewing will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 6-7 p.m.


Family will receive friends at the homes of Frances Poole at 5508 James B. White Highway South, Whiteville and Anna Bell Shipman at 224 W. 2nd Ave., Chadbourn.
