SHALLOTTE - Dustin Medlin pitched seven strong innings and his Southeastern Community College teammates rapped out 20 hits in the Rams 13-3 baseball victory over host Brunswick Community College on March 31 at the West Brunswick High School field.

It was the first-ever baseball game between the two schools.

Todd Fisher had four hits, including two doubles and six runs batted in, to pace the SCC offense. Tanner Smith, Luke Harmer and Scott Stephens each had three hits for the Rams. Harmer and Cody Jones each had two doubles and Smith also doubled.

Medlin scattered eight hits and yielded three runs before getting relieved by Drew Robinson.

Former Whiteville High player Charlie Gore knocked a two home runs for Brunswick Community College.

Coach Scott Johnson’s SCC team will play host to Stanly Community College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. On Sunday, the Rams will play the Stanly team in a single game at 2 p.m.
