City officials said Thursday the overflowing water tank on Smith Street was part of ongoing maintenance on the tank and the city’s water system.
Initial report were that the tank had malfunctioned, raining hundreds of gallons of water in an impromptu rainstorm on the lot across from the courthouse Annex. City Manager Joshua Ray said he was unaware of any problems with the tank.
The city reported no problems with water or the water system during the morning shower.
