WILSON - The Waccamaw Academy baseball team saw its seven-game winning streak come to a screeching halt Tuesday as it bowed to Kerr-Vance Academy of Henderson 7-1 in a non-conference game at historic Fleming Stadium. The neutral-field loss put the Warriors’ season record at 12-4. Coach Winfred Johnson’s WA squad had its Southeastern Conference road game with Trinity Christian postponed by rain on Monday. The Warriors were held to two hits in the loss. Kyle Hufham was the losing pitcher The remainder of Waccamaw Academy’s regular-season schedule has the Warriors playing at home against Harrells on April 29, playing Village Christian at home on May 1, and playing host to Northwood Temple on May 5. All games are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
