Rambling with Ann

By ANN WORTHINGTON

Have you ever visited someone and got yourself totally shocked, my friends? Just recently it happened to me.

I stopped by my friend’s house and thought I would spend a little time just chatting and visiting for a few minutes. After calling for her at the door several times, I decided to ring the doorbell. Much to my surprise, I suddenly heard creaking, loud noises coming from somewhere.

Lo and behold, I had mashed the garage door button and the door was on its way down. Her car was parked at the entrance and the garage door looked as though the car was right in its line of fire. Not really sure which button I had mashed, I stood there absolutely dumbfounded and just knew I had bought myself a peck of trouble.
The door slammed shut and there I stood like a child with his or her hand caught in the cookie jar.

With a brick-red face, I called out to my friend, who never heard me. I suppose she was taking an afternoon nap. I stood there with no way out or in and feeling more embarrassed by the moment,

I finally decided to mash one of the buttons on the door frame. To my great relief, the door began to open, and I practically ran from under the carport saying, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I made a decision that day. From now on, I will not ring any more door bells unless I see the word “ring me” written in large letters somewhere.

I’ve had time to think about my ordeal and thought about the disaster I could have caused had her car been right under the closing door. I thought about the large repair bill that would have been my responsibility.
My reader friends, as I’ve written many times before, I truly thank you for the nice comments from you and it is my prayer that God will bless each of you abundantly.

As always, until next time, always remember, God loves you and so do I.
